Lanai Golf – Expeditions
Tour Description:
Once known as
the “Pineapple Island,” Lana’i was largely unpopulated for centuries,
and remains distinctly unspoiled still today. It is a landscape of
plenty, embracing within a span of nine miles both the heady beauty of
th e tropics and the majestic splendor of the mountains. The Manele Bay
Hotel is host to this Jack Nicklaus masterpiece golf course which is
carved from lava cliffs hundreds of feet above crashing surf. All
eighteen holes of this target-style course have breathtaking views of
the ocean and neighboring islands.
The Challenge at Manele
18 Holes, Par 72, 7,039 Yards, Rated 73.3, Slope Rated 132.
This par 72- championship golf course merges the natural beauty of Lanai with spectacular design. The signature hole is the 12th – a par 3 where the only fairway is the surging Pacific Ocean 150 feet below the tee.
The Challenge at Manele features 3 holes constructed on the cliffs of Hulopoe Bay which use the Pacific Ocean as a dramatic water hazard.
The spectacular natural setting of The Challenge at Manele guarantees an unforgettable round for every golfer who plays here. Perched atop 200-foot cliffs, the course offers dramatic views of the ocean from all 18 holes. Lush, green fairways are bordered by black lava outcroppings, reminders of the ancient origins of Lana’i.
The Experience at Koele
18 Holes, Par 72, 7,014 Yards, Rated 73.3, Slope Rated 141
The enchanting atmosphere of The Lodge extends to The Experience at Koele – the new and spectacular golf course designed by Greg Norman. It is as much a delight to behold as it is to play featuring views to four other islands and the spectacular 8th hole which drops more than 250 feet to the valley floor below.
As the back nine begins the wind becomes a factor and challenges your every shot. Don’t miss the 18 hole putting course before or after a great round of golf at this exceptional course. The Experience at Koele, designed by Greg Norman and renowned golf course architect Ted Robinson offers the player a most interesting and enjoyable round of golf. Unlike most Hawaiian courses, the Experience is 2000 feet above sea level.
