Chant Master Krishna Das New Live Concert Album "Heart of Soul" World renowned chant master Krishna Das will mark his first release since joining the Nutone roster with the release of his debut live album Heart Full of Soul. Captured at Yoga Works Larchmont in Los Angeles and spanning over 2 hours in length, the 2-disk set encapsulates the complete live experience of being at a Krishna Das concert. Renowned for making kirtan chant more accessible to Westerners, it was Krishna Das's desire to create a record that would allow people to immerse themselves in a night of kirtan. Heart Full of Soul transports audiences into that space and features the gospel hymn "Jesus on the Main Line", beloved by audiences and available for the first time on CD. As the best selling chant artist of all time, Krishna Das has sold more than 300,000 records, and continues to engage enthusiastic audiences around the world. He has headlined venues from concert halls to yoga studios for sold out crowds in cities across America, throughout Europe and most recently in South America. He has been recording his popular and much-beloved CD's of devotional Indian chants since 1996 as a sharing of his lifetime spiritual journey, especially the practices of Bhakti Yoga-the yoga of devotion-and to kirtan-call-and-response chanting of the divine names. Krishna Das, has been called the "chant master of American Yoga" by The New York Times, and the "Pavarotti of Kirtan" by Yoga Journal. His groundbreaking music is energized with modern grooves and harmonies to create a soulful practice that is eminently accessible to modern hearts, while staying true to the path of Bhakti Yoga.Krishna Das CD's & tour schedule is available at:

You have to read this Magazine. Its the best from recipes to farmer markets on Island

edible Hawaiian Islands: Award winning quarterly magazine, celebrating the abundance of local foods in the Aloha State.
The Hawaiian Islands … images of beauty come to mind. A paradise in the middle of the Pacific. Deep blue seas, lush mountains and rain forests … clean fresh air. Luscious exotic fruits, fish with names you can’t pronounce.
These islands in the past were all about local; we need to encourage it again. Take value in local, seasonal, authentic foods and the many culinary traditions of the Hawaiian Islands. We want to know those who grow, produce, cook and sell those foods. We want to know what’s available on our islands, in terms of great dining, food events and local community farmers markets. Talk Story… the Hawaiian term for sharing information. Let’s Talk Story about old traditions, as well as new ways of preparing some of the exotic produce we have. Let’s Talk Story about how to keep the Hawaiian Islands prospering in healthy agricultural ways.
Sustainable eating (eating locally produced food) … everywhere you look, there are signs, The Hawaiian Islands are in the midst of a local food….. culinary renaissance, and we should all be a part of it. Would you rather eat what has traveled 3000 miles to get to your table, or 50 miles and less?
Filled with engaging stories, enticing photography and art, our mission is to celebrate family farmers, bakers, fisherman, ranchers, poultry farmers, local chefs and the rest of the community for their dedication to producing the highest quality fresh and seasonal foods. We want to highlight those efforts towards a more sustainable and safe food system in The Hawaiian Islands.
Join us in this effort.
We would love to hear from you, do you know someone whom you think merits a mention or an article? Do you have an old family recipe? Help us tell the story of Hawaii’s food culture.
Drop us a line today.

Vacation Sick Syndrome? It's true!

Hurrah! Finally vacation! But why do you have a sore throat? And the blood pressure has got so high and this diarrhea… This is called the vacation syndrome. It occurs due to the alteration of the psyche some days before vacation. About 60% of all grown-up population suffers from this disorder. But fortunately, it’s possible to prevent it. Here’s how.

Get Ready for Vacation
First of all, you need to prepare your body morally for the rest: let yourself as much relaxation as possible the last days before vacation. There’s no way for you to work in a frantic rush trying to perform all your great deal of duties simultaneously and solve all the problems.
No Work during Vacation

Never think about your work during vacation. Your brain should relax – just have your rest! But it doesn’t mean sleeping too long, as one can’t accumulate the sleep, but can easily upset the usual sleep and wakefulness regimen. But this recommendation has nothing to do with siesta (sleep in the early afternoon), as it is highly recommended to build up the strength and calm down the nervous system.

Relax to the Max
But the main recipe of the good vacation is to do absolutely everything you like: eliminate communication with annoying people, eat whatever you like and have as much fun as you want. In short, relax to the max. This will let you feel good, free and healthy long after vacation.

Maui Beaches

Ringed by 120 miles of coastline, Maui boasts over 30 miles of beaches. Many are easily accessible beach parks with lifeguards, picnic facilities and restrooms. Others are undeveloped, pristine, "secret spots" off the beaten path.
All of Maui's beaches feature sparkling crystal-blue waters, tropical tradewinds, and azure skies that go on forever. Most of Maui's beaches have white sand but black and red sand beaches are also a part of our island's inventory.
Several of Maui's beaches are known worldwide for unrivaled surfing and windsurfing conditions. Others are well suited for the beginning snorkeler, beachcombers, families and children. Scroll down this page for an overview of Maui's favorite beaches.
PLEASE REMEMBER: Even though the ocean is Maui's playground there are precautions to observe. Offshore winds and currents can be powerful and they can change suddenly. That means not straying too far from shore or heading out to kayak, windsurf or sail if warning signs are posted, or if conditions warrant caution.
Please understand that the descriptions below are intended only to provide general information about Maui's beaches. Just because a beach is described as being good for beginners, as having good swimming, or as being calm, this does not mean that the beach is right for you. In addition, conditions can change without warning. You must use your own best judgment to determine whether a particular beach is appropriate for you and your ability level.
The folks who know the most about beach and ocean safety in Hawaii, the Hawaii Lifeguard Associaiton, and several State agencies, have put together an excellent website with all the information you need to make your Maui ocean encounters the best they can be.
Click here to check it out.

Guests Who Light Up in Nonsmoking Rooms Face Fines

*What are your thoughts?

HONOLULU (AP) - Smokers who light up in nonsmoking hotel rooms in Hawaii face hundreds of dollars in fines.
Hotels say the fines cover the cost of shampooing the rugs, drapes and bedding to eliminate the cigarette odor. The Aqua Palms & Spa in Waikiki charges $500.Guy Underkoffler, senior vice president of the property, says the nonsmoking hotel raised the penalty last month to discourage smoking violations. There has been only one violation since, he said."Five-hundred dollars seems to be the magic number to make them think twice," he said, adding that the hotel hasn't had much trouble getting violators to pay.Barry Wallace, of Outrigger Enterprises Group, said the hotel chain has noticed decreasing demand for smoking-allowed rooms."Over the last few years, we have noticed ... an increasing sensitivity to any odor or exposure to cigarette smoke by our guests and employees," Wallace said.Outrigger Hotels and Resorts and its budget Ohana properties have been smoke-free since 2006. The hotel chain imposes $250 fines for guests who smoke in its rooms.
Wallace said the chain experiences about two violations a week. For the most part, the shift to nonsmoking has been accepted by guests, including Japanese visitors, who tend to smoke more than Americans, he said."It has not been a big deal," Wallace said.Travel Hawaii, a Hawaii-based Internet travel agency, has set up a database with the smoking policies of hotels throughout the state. The company's owner, John Lindelow, says the site is constantly updated."This is a rapidly changing area of hotel policy," he said.Hawaii hotels are not alone in going smoke-free. A number of hotel chains with properties across the nation, including Marriott, have also banned smoking.

Honolulu Advertiser "quotes" Maui Hawaii Vacations

Posted on: Monday, March 31, 2008
ALOHA AIRNews causes a chaotic scramble
By Peter Boylan and Mary VorsinoAdvertiser Staff Writers

From left, Brandie Cambra, a customer service agent for Aloha Airlines, wipes her tears while colleague Coreen Dijos processes a ticket at Honolulu International Airport after being told of today's shutdown.
The uncertainty surrounding booked Aloha Airlines flights created chaos among travelers, booking agents, hotels and other airlines yesterday as the travel industry struggled to compensate for the loss of the interisland carrier.
Hundreds of people frantically called their travel agents to find out how their vacation plans would be hurt by the Aloha shutdown. Agents were trying to book them on other airlines.
Naomi Bennett, the owner of Maui Hawaii Vacations, came to work to help her reservations agents field calls. In just three hours, she took 22 calls.
"It's bad. They're flipping out," she said.
She said the airline shutdown will certainly hurt her business, and she doesn't believe she'll be the only one.
"This is a very sad day," she said.
With the closing of Aloha Airlines, 88,000 interisland seats per week will disappear, but Hawaiian Airlines and go! Airlines say they will add 56,000 new interisland seats to fill the gap.
Panda Travel was closed yesterday, but employees were making plans for a tidal wave of calls today.
"Aloha is a big one," said Mike Brown, a lead agent at Panda Travel. "It's a pretty big dent. We're working on how to sort it out."
Lynn Ham Young, who lives on Kaua'i, refused to believe that Aloha Airlines was shutting down. She said the economy can't handle the loss of the airline. "We need it," Young said, as she was in line at Honolulu International Airport to check in for a flight home. "It's a necessity."
In a scene on Maui that likely played out across the state yesterday, Maui United Soccer Club parents said they had paid $6,000 to Aloha to fly 50 players, coaches and parents to Honolulu for next weekend's HYSA state championships. They were trying to figure out what to do.
Information from Aloha was sketchy, and whether those who hold tickets with the airline can get any or some of their money back is unclear.
A release issued by the company said that passengers who have booked flights should contact their credit card companies or travel agents to inquire about refunds. Aloha said those who paid with cash or by check could file a claim with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
No AlohaPass frequent-flier miles will be honored after today, and customers who booked hotel rooms and rental cars with AlohaPass reward credit were directed to contact the individual hotel or rental car agency.
United Airlines, Aloha's code-share partner, will rebook passengers holding United tickets on an alternative flight, where space is available, for no additional charge, according to the company. For customers traveling on an Aloha-issued ticket, United is offering a discounted one-way fare through the end of April.
Mesa Airlines announced that go! airline will increase the Honolulu flights it operates from an average of 54 a day to 94 flights beginning tomorrow. The company said that with the new service, go! will provide between 11 and 13 roundtrips a day between Honolulu and Maui, Lihue, Hilo and Kona. go! said it will offer all seats at $49 through April 7. In addition, go! is offering standby space at no charge to passengers holding Aloha paper and electronic tickets, through Thursday.
Hotels also were trying to make allowances for Aloha passengers.
Marriott Resorts Hawaii is offering a 50 percent discount for up to three nights for guests at Marriott properties stranded in Hawai'i as a result of the shutdown. Aloha ticket holders staying at other hotels are being offered a kama'aina rate, and the company was waiving penalties for reservations that can't be met because of Aloha's passenger service shutdown.
"Marriott Resorts Hawaii is saddened to see Aloha Airlines' long history and commitment to serving the Hawaiian Islands come to an end. The company expresses its sympathies to Aloha's employees and their families," said Ed Hubennette, vice president of North Asia, Hawaii & South Pacific for Marriott International.
Aqua Hotels & Resorts, which owns eleven properties in Waikiki, was offering three free nights to travelers stuck in Waikiki because of the loss of Aloha service. The offer is based on room availability, and those looking to take advantage of the service must present their return Aloha Airlines ticket stub.
"I know that visitors, including some of our guests, will be scrambling to rebook their return flights home, and I don't want them worrying about the expense of spending a few additional nights in Waikiki," said Mike Paulin, owner and CEO of Aqua Hotels and Resorts.
Some passengers at the airport were just getting the news as they stood in line to check in for flights yesterday. Others, mostly frequent fliers, were wondering what the shutdown would mean for fares.
"I think the prices are definitely going to go up," said Aloha passenger Jeff Malate, who lives in Hilo, but whose family lives on O'ahu. He said Aloha has been in the market since he was a child. Not having it there, he added, will be like losing a good friend. "I've always remembered them being around," he said.

Reduced Calorie Hawaiian Dishes!! ONO

Hawaiian food that won't pack on the pounds
You can't live without the laulau at a luau but you might live longer if you replace pork laulau with our recipe for Steamed Mahimahi Laulau. This Lomilomi Salmon doesn't just taste good, the polyphenols and flavanoids found in tomatoes and onions are antioxidants minus the added salt and sugar. Instead of Chicken Long Rice try this health smart salad version. Coconut is a healthy source of fat and a great source of potassium. With all these health conscious mains you can afford to finish off with a healthy helping of Haupia Pie.

HONOLULU WELLNESS SEMINAR

Rapidly & Safely Clear the Negative Subconsciouswith New Quantum Flower Frequencies.
HONOLULU WEEKEND SEMINAR
Date: May 17 & 18, Sat & SunTime: 9 am to 5 pmLocation: 1450 Young St., Honolulu, HI 96814
REGISTRATION
Instructor: Dr. Brent W. DavisFlorAlive® founder, inventor of UNCUT Flower™ frequencies
It is astonishing how often destructive and limiting SUBconscious beliefs occur and run our lives. After exam, we are finding that very limiting subconscious beliefs are still present in individuals who have worked hard to clear their consciousness. FlorAlive® UNCUT Flower™ essences "overwrite" and remove self-defeating thoughts, beliefs, and memories which are blocking positive intention and which have not been removed by previous efforts.
In this interactive workshop you will learn how to rapidly detect and permanently remove, with flower frequencies, common sabotaging beliefs that hide within the unconscious mind.
You will learn two ways to rapidly screen the body to identify disabling beliefs, such as the following, and to measure when FlorAlive® frequencies have removed them.

If I step into my power, I will be annihilated. I am disconnected from the Source of ALL life. I am suffering from the effects of emotional abuse and trauma. No matter what action I take, I will be defeated. It is unsafe for me to fee. I am destined to draw troubled men into my life. It is unsafe for me to feel. I am filled with shame. I cannot release the hurt trapped inside me.…AND dozens more

The Process
FIRST you will learn to use a rapid screening process of using leg length change to direct you to the possible choice of FlorAlive® frequencies.
THEN you will learn how to use a simple arm muscle test while the patient repeats aloud self referential statements which will indicate which flowers are needed for clearing.
This type of subconscious screening has been found valid in a peer-reviewed article: Monti et al., Muscle Test Comparison of Congruent and Incongruent Self-Referential Statements, Perceptual and Motor Skills (1999) 88, 1019 – 1028
Attendees receive FREE $200 retail value of FlorAlive® essences to begin use in practice.
Pre-Registration: $295; $325 at door (cash only). Accompanying office assistants, spouse, and students are half price.
For your security, your credit card payment will be processed directly by our office. CALL (615) 780-5927 to make payment

Good Luck & Happy Sailing; we are thrilled to see you.
Maui Hawaii Vacations.com has been with you from the beginning!

Traveling between the Hawaiian Islands by boat is a time-honored tradition. The ancient Polynesians, with their indomitable courage and genius for navigation, first commanded these waters many years ago and developed a proud history. For them it was both fun and practical--and that’s exactly what we have designed our service to be.

This Hawaiian seafaring tradition began to fade into memory with the advent of commercial aviation, but Hawaii Superferry hopes to renew the oceangoing spirit by making boat travel, once again, an important part of life here in the islands.
Hawaii Superferry is more than just an alternative way to get from one island to the next. We believe our interisland service will change Hawai‘i for the better, combining historic tradition with modern capabilities to rebuild our marine highways.

Passage on Hawaii Superferry lets you drive aboard in your own car, with all your belongings in the trunk. On the ship, you’re free to roam, relax in the lounges, eat, drink, and talk story. There’s so much to see, from live TV and individual-screen movies to simply watching the ocean go by from your seat. Not only does Hawaii Superferry passage expand the possibilities for travel among the islands, riding Hawaii Superferry can be the highlight of your trip—a time to unwind and enjoy yourself, a brief Hawaiian cruise.
Upon arrival, you drive off in your own car, without having to touch your baggage or hustle for ground transportation. We hope Hawaii Superferry will completely change the way you feel about interisland travel, bringing the people of the islands and their visitors together in a way that is both brand new and wonderfully traditional.
Hawaii Superferry is proud to offer the best in island foods and beverages onboard the Alakai, along with a splendid place to enjoy them. The passenger deck has three dining areas whose menu items range from Kona coffee to Asian pupus and, of course, sandwiches, salads, soups and entrees all based on local products.
